Trump revives conspiracy theory linking Cruz’s father to JFK killing
Five small words from Donald Trump’s 75-minute acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention shot out, leaving Hillary Clinton “shocked”.
Trump said, “If you turn on television, you – you turn on some of the dishonest media, you’ll see that, oh, wow. this happened and that happened”. But I don’t want his endorsement.
The Manhattan billionaire told the Cleveland audience that he didn’t think Cruz’s support was worth anything and urged him to “stay home”.
He also suggested that if Cruz were to seek the White House, he would set up a super PAC to oppose him. “I would have to know more about what he’d do, but he’d be a great candidate”.
The week started with a dustup between convention leaders and delegates who wanted to change the party’s rules to derail Trump’s nomination.
The real estate mogul then circled back to old Cruz insults that have gotten him in trouble, from the conspiracy theory that Cruz’s father was somehow involved with JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald to a meme he retweeted mocking Heidi Cruz’s appearance. “Did anybody ever deny that was the father?”
Cruz has not revealed which candidate he will vote for in the upcoming presidential election between Trump and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. And on Thursday, Cruz referenced the incident, as he drew an angry reaction from members of his state’s own GOP delegation. “As I recall, we had a revolution to make sure we didn’t have someone who said, ‘I can fix it alone'”. However, if you haven’t heard a ton of Donald Trump speeches over the year, here are the three main takeaways from Thursday night. On Wednesday, Cruz shocked the convention hall in a speech in which he failed to endorse Trump. He said Friday he would not accept an endorsement from Texas Sen. “Now you can’t really put this into laws, what I’m about to say – but we need more love and kindness in this country, we need more respect between and among our fellow Americans”.
“But if his father becomes president, he may have other things to do”, Kolb said. Trump does not understand what the Constitution is about, ‘ he said.
Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino, Trump’s campaign co-chair in NY and an unsuccessful candidate for governor in 2010, said he would caution Trump Jr. not to run.
Mr Trump declared the nation’s problems too big to be fixed within the confines of traditional politics.
“A lot of people are surprised that we are where we are, and are having to adjust to that reality”, says DeVos. Given the poll’s credibility interval of about 4 percentage points, Trump and Clinton should be considered to be about even in the race. “Then when I saw somebody tweeted a picture of Melania and a picture of Heidi, who I think, by the way, is a very nice woman and a very handsome woman”.
