In 10th convention speech, Bill Clinton faces tougher crowd
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, won’t gavel her party’s national convention to order on Monday afternoon.
Canova’s south Florida campaign for Congress has reflected some of the themes that Sanders used nationwide to appeal to progressives, including a push for campaign finance reform. Activists jeered and waved signs reading “Thanks for the ‘help, ‘ Debbie”.
“We now have the Wikileaks emails showing that the Democratic party was working against Bernie Sanders the whole time”, she said.
Clinton campaign officials blamed the hack, which is now being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, on Russian military intelligence agencies.
The scandal is rocking the party on the eve of their convention, and the fall is a stunning one for the tough-talking Florida representative who became the first woman elected to chair the DNC.
“So I can see there’s a little bit of interest in my being here, and I appreciate that interest, and a little bit of interest from the press”. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe told delegates Monday morning he hoped delegates will treat the often-controversial Wasserman Schultz with respect as she continues to participate in the convention, noting that “she wants to get up there”.
She said she would fulfil her role and open and close the convention and address delegates “about the stakes involved in this election not only for Democrats, but for all Americans”.
While Mrs. Obama has often avoided overt politics during her almost eight years in the White House, her frustration with Trump’s rise was evident.
The Democratic National Committee is offering its “deep and honest apology” to Bernie Sanders, his supporters and the entire party for what it calls “the inexcusable remarks made over email”.
“Honestly it’s their fault that this happened”.
Ohio’s Michael Skindell, a Sanders delegate, said Monday he plans to “strongly support the nominee of the party”.
Party leaders have dismissed allegations that the party is biased because of religion.
“I will literally boo anytime she’s involved in the convention because she shouldn’t be involved”, Riker added.
Wasserman Schultz also had supporters at the breakfast.
“They’re not real Democrats”, Sobel said.
Wasserman Schultz, who announced yesterday that she would resign as head of the DNC after the convention this week, came under increased fire from supporters of Bernie Sanders after leaked emails showed that the DNC clearly favored Hillary Clinton in the presidential race and strategized about ways to bring down Sanders.
Florida has 29 Electoral College delegates, which President Barack Obama carried in 2008 and 2012. Instead, she found herself hardly able to speak over the boos.
If you know two things about Jennifer Granholm, you probably know that A: She ran the state of MI into the ground like a gubernatorial kamikaze pilot, and B: Her biggest claim to fame is an epic appearance on the Dating Game back in the 70’s.
As she was escorted off stage by police, protesters sang, “Na na na na, hey hey hey, good-bye”.
