Greenwich Under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until 8
The majority of the state is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m., the National Weather Service said this afternoon.
A cluster of thunderstorms was located in Erie County and mving southwest at 45 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of heavy storms. NWS indicates the storm may bring damage to roofs, siding and/or trees.
It’s ridiculously hot and oppressively humid outside.
Another storm is expected to move through the area between 6 and 9 p.m. tonight.
It will be in place until 8 p.m.
Today’s forecasted high for the Kelowna area is 33.
All of central Pennsylvania is included in the watch, the NWS said.
“It’ll be enough of a trigger mechanism to start the thunderstorms, but there will be no reinforcing cool air”, he said.
The skies should clear up Tuesday, when temperatures are expected to stay in the low 90s with a bit less humidity, Walker said.
