Stranger Things Season 2 Will Be a Direct Sequel
Here, we take a look at Stranger Things: the Netflix original series you don’t want to miss.
We grew up particularly obsessed with the movies of Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter, as well as the novels of Stephen King. If you scroll down to the comments, lots of viewers have pointed out other film allusions or overlapping tropes in the Duffer Brothers show which demonstrates just how much of a tribute Stranger Things is to these stories.
Netflix has not officially announced “Stranger Things” Season 2 yet. We want to retain the tone, but all our favorite sequels feel a little different. There have also been reports that by the end of the first season, issues will be resolved to an extent although not entirely. So in that sense, it is like an eight-hour movie. We’re excited, if we get a chance to go back, that [we] could ramp up more and more. And for those who binged their way through the show’s first eight episodes, one of the biggest remaining mysteries is whether the acclaimed show will indeed get a second season.
It’s all but a formality that Netflix will order more episodes of Stranger Things to begin to answer those burning questions left after the events of the season 1 finale. “You’ll reach a point eventually where you’re like, ‘Why don’t these people just leave this town?’ I don’t know how long”.
Are you hopeful that Netflix orders a second season? Season one ended with, as Levy said, “questions that merit future stories and future investigation”, especially regarding one key character’s surprising change in motivation.
Executive producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen told us season two would follow the same characters and introduce critical new ones.
How is it that this character, who we spent only a very short time with, gives us so many damn feels?
