Joe Biden Pulled out the Receipts on Donald Trump at the DNC
Vice President Joe Biden speaks during the third day session of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Wednesday, July 27, 2016.
President Barack Obama said the nation he’s presided over for almost eight years is a very different country than the one described by Republicans at their convention last week.
Joe Biden is sworn in for a second term as Vice President of the United States.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the beginning of the lineup, saying that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who is from the city de Blasio was elected to represent, is a “conman”, and that Clinton would be a “champion” for working people. “Give me a break!” “That’s a bunch of malarky”, Biden said.
“We simply can not let that happen as Americans”, he said. Actually he has no clue.
Shortly after Hillary Clinton formally captured the Democratic nomination and declared the glass ceiling cracked and almost shattered, her husband, ex-President Bill Clinton delivered an expansive and passionate testimonial Tuesday night.
“Everybody knows she’s smart”.
“To state the obvious – and I’m not trying to be a wise guy here – that’s not Donald Trump’s story”, Biden said. I know Hillary. Hillary understands.
“One of the finest presidents we have ever had”.
He also said Republican Donald Trump and his running mate “don’t know what they’re talking about” when it comes to national security.
“I don’t see any attempt for him to go out and get people who really know on the Republican side”, he said.
Instead, they’ve centred their national security criticism on Trump by calling him rash and irresponsible, ridiculing his suggestions of a weaker North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and allowing more nuclear powers, or his occasionally favourable comments about authoritarian rulers.
“We can not elect a man who exploits our fears of ISIS and other terrorists-who has no plan whatsoever to make us safer”, Biden said of Trump. “That’s who we are”, Biden said.
Like Obama, Biden is predicted to have a regular campaign presence leading up to November’s vote.
Speaking in soft tones and encouraging the crowd to refrain from applause, Vice President Joe Biden quietly delivered a devastating critique of Donald Trump. That tour is set to begin August 15, when Biden campaigns alongside Clinton in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Yet this touchstone presidential moment has been a decade or more in the making.
Biden noted that the president is “a man of character, and he has become a brother to Jill and me – and Michelle, I don’t know where you are, kid, but you’re incredible”.
“I’ve been made strong at the broken places”, he said, quoting Ernest Hemingway.
