Chelsea Clinton will open for her mother at the Democratic National Convention as Clinton accepts a place in history as the first female presidential nominee for a major party.

But both women are dutiful daughters who will keep doing whatever they can to help their parents achieve their professional dreams. In 1993, after Chelsea Clinton’s father, Bill Clinton, became President, she moved into the White House.

But Ivanka, in recent interviews, has indicated that they’ve taken a pause on their friendship as their parents face-off, letting the rest of the campaign play out.

“I am deeply biased towards my mother”, she said at the Facebook event earlier this week.

While the media has declared Chelsea off limits, they have swarmed on Ivanka. “She’s not one of us, the 99 percent”.

First, she worked for the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. for three years and went to Wall Street for another three years to work for a hedge fund. She returned to school at Columbia University, where she got a Master of Public Health.

In an interview with the Today show on Thursday, Matt Lauer asked Chelsea if she is friends with Ivanka and she said “absolutely”. “I hope they are even just a fraction of as proud of me as I am about my mom”. “I don’t expect it will be about politics in the future”.

“It really matters to me that my mom in this election consistently has told you how she’s going to do everything, whether that’s on gun control or protecting a woman’s right to choose or any of the things we’ve talked about”. She spoke about her father’s plans for family leave and making affordable child care more accessible, though some criticized that neither are policies he’s discussed.

“As proud as I am of my mom, this election to me is fundamentally about my children, about Charlotte and Aidan”, she explained. “And I think that’s a real tribute to her because certainly anyone as gorgeous as she is could have probably gone quite far being skin-deep”. “I think First Gentleman has a nice ring to it”.
