Victim in Midland Park Shooting Possibly Ambushed
Police are investigating after a man was found without vital signs following a shooting in Scarborough late Thursday evening.
It happened at 10: 15 p.m. when a local resident discovered the victim wounded on the sidewalk on Rushley Drive near Lawrence Avenue East and Brimley Road.
The 21-year-old victim was rushed to SunnyBrook Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
There’s no word yet on any suspects and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
Investigators are also asking area residents who may have surveillance footage from 9:45 p.m.to 10:15 p.m. last night, particularly those who live on Marcos Boulevard, to review it to see if it shows the suspect or suspects. He stands around six feet and has a medium build, with short dark hair.
Officers are appealing to witnesses who saw the suspect or have information about the whereabouts of Morgan from 12 p.m. Thursday.
“This shooting was an ambush style attack”.
Some witnesses reported seeing two suspects, but investigators say they do not have a good description of a second person. The suspect began shooting without any warning or prior communication.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
“We believe he was hiding somewhere in the parkette”.
