Durant: I never told Westbrook I’m coming back to Thunder
Only able to muster up an extremely sarcastic, robotic laugh that to me says, “Oh, I can’t wait until we play the Golden State Warriors this season”, it doesn’t seem like Westbrook is the type to let bygones be bygones.
Stephen Curry happily offered such suggestions to Kevin Durant, according to ESPN’s The Undefeated.
Many say the Thunder should pitch Westbrook on this now being his team.
There’s a new person who apparently played a role in Durant choosing the Warriors, although he’s not affiliated with the team in any official capacity like West or Nash.
Since signing that deal in 2012, Curry has evolved from an often-injured player surrounded by question marks into one of the most unstoppable players in the game, one coming off two consecutive league MVP awards. The idea that he could have been the difference for a team that was 90 seconds away from winning consecutive titles? The list noted that it’s down to the “Cavaliers, Clippers and Spurs, plus maybe the Raptors or Thunder”. You can also include the Raptors or Thunder.
Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors earlier in July, an unpopular decision in some parts. While Thompson is more mild mannered on the court, Curry did not have any issues with the more aggressive Green.
First We Feast: Steph Curry or Kevin Durant?
So yes, Bucher’s report is nearly certainly true – a contender (and, perhaps, every contender!) is planning to poach Curry. “This “contending” team had best not get their hopes up about acquiring him”, the report concluded. Just about any team that would come after Westbrook in 2017 free agency, the L.A. Lakers or Boston Celtics, etc., could make the same case. Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
