See Space in VR with HTC Vive’s ‘ADR1FT’
Thankfully, the Steam store is having a sale this weekend, and heaps of high-quality VR games are up for grabs at a discount.
No longer do players hoping to experience a simulated space launch have to wait in line for the Oculus Rift, because Adam Orth’s virtual reality video game, “ADR1FT”, has been given its long-awaited introduction to the HTC Vive.
Check out the full list of discounted titles here.
Steam’s VR Weekend Sale is going to be more advantageous to HTC Vive owners, because most if not all of the games being offered are going to be compatible with the VR headset.
The Vive exclusive Audioshield is available for 25 percent off, as is Cloudlands: VR Minigolf.
Games like Elite: Dangerous, The Solus Project, Tabletop Simulator, and Home Improvisation: Furniture Sandbox are all featured in this sale, as well as a 20-game VR Weekend Sale bundle. However, this the first time it has only put VR games on sale for a whole weekend.
But don’t stop at our faves. As for the discounts, they’re not as generous as, say, the Steam Summer Sale.
Steam’s latest sale is VR-focused, dropping prices on a wide range of games designed specifically for VR, as well as regular games with VR support. There are also a couple of Oculus Rift titles, including the well-reviewed House of the Dying Sun, which can also be played on a flat screen.
The impact on you at home: Virtual reality is still in its early adopter phase, and the initial content library for these devices are still in the build-up phase. The sale runs now through Monday at 10 a.m. PT.
