In a shocking incident, a woman (45) from Noida and her minor daughter (14) were allegedly gangraped early on Saturday morning after they were dragged out of their auto by around half-a-dozen men at highway in Bulandshar district of western Uttar Pradesh.
The victims were travelling to Shahjahanpur with their family on 29 July night when the incident happened.
Family was on its way from Noida to Shahjahanpur when they were waylaid by bandits after their vehicle was hit by a blunt object. The family stopped the auto and were surrounded by a group of men near Dostpur village.
The family’s four male members have said they were tied up with ropes and their belongings stolen while the attack took place, Chaudhary told AFP. Briefing media, Director General of Police Javed Ahmed said, the victims identified the accused from amongst those detained in the matter.

He said police had taken into custody 15 persons, all of them belonging to a nomadic tribe, last evening and interrogated them. They will monitor the search ops of the special teams.
“The main suspect has been identified”.
India introduced tougher anti-rape laws following the case, but activists say little has changed in attitudes towards sexual assault, adding that attacks on women and girls continue unabated.
The Samajwadi Party (SP)-led state government is answerable as to where they are taking the law and order situation in the state, said Mahesh Sharma.
The opposition parties slammed the government, claiming a “jungleraaj” prevails in the state. Asking the government to step down, he said the Bulandshahr incident shows that the administrative system in the state has collapsed completely.
