Clinton camp rejects Federal Bureau of Investigation findings about emails
Let’s unpack that. Clinton claims that the FBI Director says that she was honest with her answers, even though he was rather plain that she was not truthful with her answers. Clinton stated that he is easily agitated and seems to make rash decisions.
Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey testified in a July 7 congressional hearing that multiple statements the Democratic presidential nominee made to the public were untrue. Hillary Clinton to said, “I never lied about my e-mails”.
Clinton’s claim that the FBI found her “truthful” is also undermined by the fact that she was never placed under oath during hours of interviews with federal investigators.
Among the thousands of work emails Clinton failed to turn over – despite her repeated statements that she had turned over everything – “three were classified at the time they were sent or received”. On her claim that she used one device, Comey said, “She used multiple devices”.
In other words, Comey confirmed that Clinton had repeatedly misled the public, but he said there was no evidence she had lied in her interview with the FBI (which would be a federal crime). “There is no classified material”.
More than 2,000 of the 30,490 emails Clinton gave to the State Department in December 2014 contained classified information – most of it classified retroactively. “You just don’t send classified information over the unclassified system”.
And still, during that hearing Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) asked Comey whether Clinton was correct in saying there was no information sent or received that was marked classified. Comey’s opinion, “No reasonable prosecutor would prosecute this case”, is far from true. “There is no classified material”.
Clinton: Chris, that’s not what I heard Director Comey say, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity, in my view, clarify.
Democratic Party nominee, Hillary Clinton acknowledges that Americans have a reason to question if she can be trusted, particularly related to her email scandal and Benghazi terrorist attacks, Fox News reports. She can’t stop, won’t stop, lying.
As she has elsewhere, Clinton shifted the blame for her mishandling of classified information to her colleagues.
In saying Comey called her answers “truthful”, Clinton was apparently referring to – and putting a positive spin on – a comment Comey made in a July 7 congressional hearing regarding Clinton’s closed-door interview with the FBI as part of their investigation.
As we have seen repeatedly in Clinton’s explanations of the email controversy, she relies on excessively technical and legalistic answers to explain her actions.
Testifying before Congress, Comey said it was possible Clinton was not “technically sophisticated” enough to understand what the classified markings meant.
“Donald Trump has shown a very troubling willingness to back up (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, to support Putin”, Clinton said.
