Pogba not a done deal: Raiola
Manchester United believe they have made a significant breakthrough in their world record move for Paul Pogba and hope to finalise the deal within the next 48 hours.
Zidane had said: “I don’t know if he will come”.
FC’s Shaka Hislop does not necessarily feel Man United or Real Madrid would best suit Paul Pogba.
Pogba, 23, left United when his contract expired four years ago and signed for Juventus, with the Premier League club only receiving a compensation payment of around £800,000.
Pogba has often been credited with preferring a move to the Bernabeu so perhaps this deal could still go through…
“Getting that mentality back, from being a midfield player to being a goalscorer again is what I’ve been working on all pre-season”.
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is now the world’s most expensive footballer, having joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 for a fee of €100m, while team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place after his €94m euro transfer from Manchester United in 2009.
“I don’t like to talk about money, but if the Red Devils are willing to pay so much it’s only because Paul is a great talent and a golden boy who works so hard to win everything”.
A fee of £112m has been agreed and the latest sticking point of Pogba’s agent’s fees, has been settled with United picking up £20m the estimated £24m bill to Mino Raiola.
“That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful”.
Pogba, who left United on a free transfer in 2012, is expected to become Jose Mourinho’s fourth signing of the summer after Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
