Killing of 2 Civilians Triggers Protests in Indian Kashmir
Sources said dozens of people were injured when security forces intercepted a auto and bike rally at Adijan village of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Wednesday. It appeared that he had been shot from a point-blank range, the post-mortem report said.
LeT Abu Dojana had earlier appeared at a 50,000-strong rally at Kareemabad but he did not address the gathering.
Thousands of people participated in Farooq’s funeral on Wednesday.

Unofficial reports put the number of injured at 70 but a police spokesman refused to comment on the matter. As many as 15 two-wheelers were set on fire and destroyed. The protesters shouted slogans against Indian rule and denounced the killings of Kashmiri civilians during the recent unrest. However, officials at SKIMS told STATE TIMES that Suhail Ahmad Wani was “almost dead”. He said there was no chance of his recovery. The police initially described it as a “mysterious death”, and said “an iron rod was used to kill him”. They were seen checking identity cards and thrashing Police personnel wherever found travelling.

Youth at Vehail Shopian reportedly clashed with police. “These incidents were reported from Srinagar, Kulgam, Sopore, Shopian, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Budgam and Awantipora”.
In a bid to maintain law and order and getting situation out of control heavy security deployment was made along the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
He said curfew was also imposed in Khanpora area of Baramulla district, Awanitpora and Pampore in Pulwama district while Anantnag town in south Kashmir also continued to remain under curfew.
More than 120 persons have been detained under “prohibitory provisions of law”. Mr Shah died on the spot.
However, subsequently with the help of X-Ray and post mortem it became clear that there were hundreds of pellets in Shah’s organs. “It (pellets) had drilled a hole in the body”.

Anti-India protests erupted shortly after the young man’s body was brought to his neighborhood home in Srinagar. “You should confirm with the police station where they have launched an FIR”, he said.
