Power Saving Mode on Galaxy Note 7 Can Scale Down Resolution
SAMSUNG UNVEILED the long-awaited Galaxy Note 7 on Tuesday, and the big-screened smartphone will arrive on United Kingdom shelves on 2 September.
Giving a refreshing look to its Galaxy Note series ahead of the Apple event, Samsung has introduced an iris biometric scanner in its flagship Note 7 which, according to company officials, is the first globally.
Conor Pierce, Samsung’s vice president of IT and mobile in the United Kingdom, said the Galaxy Note 7 combines productivity and entertainment in one single device. Even though the device will be available to buy starting 19th August, smartphone carriers in the U.S. have started taking pre-orders for the device already.
Samsung says you will be able to use both the smartphone and S Pen in torrential rain since they’re both IP68 water resistant, that means they can cope underwater for 30 minutes.
“The Note 7 combines productivity and entertainment with strong security features”, said Samsung Electronics’ president of mobile communications business D.J. Koh at the launch, which was done simultaneously in London and Rio de Janeiro. There’s the same 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear-facing camera with image stabilisation and support for 4K video, and the same five megapixel camera on the front.
Colors: Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Silver Titanium, and Gold Platinum (available only internationally).
Samsung yesterday announced the latest version of their Gear VR mobile headset alongside the new Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. This scanner will scan eyes of a user and unlock the phone if a match is found.
However, this year’s approach is a little different; inside, the Note 7 is virtually indistinguishable from the S7 or S7 Edge. As for the internals, both the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7’s USA version have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM.
If you are a fan of waterproof gadget, Note 7 could be ideal for you. The preorders for the handset opened on August 3. It lets you write on the screen (and keep your notes visible on the “Always on” display), make gifs, translate text, zoom in and out, and even paint pictures using virtual oil paints. It has a 3,500 mAh battery, which can be charged wirelessly. The Galaxy Note 7 supports LTE Cat 9 speeds, and is the first Samsung smartphone with a USB Type-C connection in place of microUSB.
