Cara Delevingne & Margot Robbie Buddy Up In Matching Outfits
Their relationship is the most twisted in the comic book universe.
While it would be tempting to frame this debate as the difference between the true fan and outsider perspectives on “Suicide Squad”, that’s not really correct.
“The critics have been absolutely horrific”, Delevingne told Reuters at the movie’s London premiere on Monday.
But if you think matching tracksuits is committed, you should know that Robbie gave out “SKWAD” ink to her fearless and willing co-stars with her own tattoo gun (which she got on eBay). After all, the only thing that really matters when it comes to movies is revenue. “I made the movie for real people who live in the real world”, he said.
And this seems to be the party line…
“At the end of the day critical acclaim is really nice, but we made it for the fans”, added Margot Robbie. If you find it unhelpful, and choose to ignore it in favor of a particular reviewer, a friend’s recommendations, or even just going and seeing movies without reading any reviews at all, then that’s great too.
“In fact i started this petition to gather dc fans to express our anger just for fun”.
Meanwhile the film managed a meager 33 per cent on Rotten Tomato which has angerered dedicated fans who have come out against the website for aggregating such bad reviews and want it to shut down. Ultimately, it sounds as though “Suicide Squad” has missed a trick or two.
While many people will consider this rating as they did for BvS, it has caused a stir among the DC fans.
“Zapata quote is my way of saying I love the movie and believe in it”, Ayer clarified. It is tracking for a $140 million opening, so that is something to look forward to but sources say it would have to gross at least $750-$800 million to break even.
But unlike their co-stars, Jay Hernandez (El Diablo) and Cara Delevingne (The Enchantress) didn’t hold back. “So the critics can kiss my ass”. Instead, you can blame those low ratings on director David Ayer and others responsible for putting together the movie. The reviews have ranged from average to downright terrible but moviegoers have voted with their feet and sent Suicide Squad straight to the top of the Australian box office, a small victory.
