Trump is ‘unfit,’ Obama says, challenging GOP to end support
Nehlen’s longshot bid against Ryan garnered more attention this week after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump thanked him on Twitter for his support.
On Tuesday, Trump told the Washington Post he’s not yet ready to endorse Paul Ryan in the Wisconsin primary. “I don’t doubt they were outraged by some of the statements that Mr. Trump and his supporters made about the Khan family”, Obama said.
Asked whether a Trump administration would reinstate prayers in school, Pence said only that his running mate strongly believed in religious freedom and would fight to repeal a law that bars churches from endorsing candidates for elected office.
Ignoring the pleas of his advisers and entreaties from party leaders in Washington, Trump only dug in further Tuesday. “I’m not quite there yet”.
Paul Ryan said no endorsement is “a blank check” and acknowledged that Donald Trump has “had a pretty unusual run since the convention” during a radio interview Thursday. “Donald Trump can not be elected president”, Bradshaw said. John McCain of Arizona, while he slammed Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire. Also, Rep. Richard Hanna of NY became the first Republican member of Congress to say he will vote for Clinton.
“My advice to Donald Trump has been and will continue to be to focus on jobs and national security and stop responding to every criticism whether it’s from a grieving family or Hillary Clinton”, Blunt said in a statement.
Trump’s comments appeared to represent the most dramatic break yet with a Republican establishment whose support for their presidential nominee has been reluctant at best.
Ryan has endorsed Trump, though it’s hardly a cozy relationship – Ryan took a while to endorse, and during his Republican convention speech he barely mentioned the candidate. He on numerous occasions promised that a Trump administration would repeal the president’s Affordable Care Act and strengthen the economy.
Hanna is retiring from the House and is not seeking re-election, leaving him more leeway to risk upsetting colleagues and voters over his break with Trump. We need loyal people in this country.
‘You would think we ought to be focusing on Hillary Clinton, on all of her deficiencies.
The speaker said it is his duty to speak up against Trump on issues like the Khan family or his criticism of an American-born judge of Mexican descent whom Trump had also attacked. “I said so last week and he keeps on proving it”, Obama said yesterday.
Saying that Clinton’s Supreme Court choices would turn the US into the leftist nation of Venezuela, Trump argued that Republicans and others who may not like him will have to vote for him anyway.
