Audio of strip game on phone of California mayor

Amador County District Attorney Todd Riebe says an audio clip found on Mr. Silvas smartphone seems to be a recording of talk during a strip poker game at the city camp and that at least one of the participants was apparently 16 years of age.

The summer camp was held at Stockton Silver Lake Camp in Amador County, where Silva was operating a summer camp for economically disadvantaged children.

The second count concerns two incidences previous year when the Stockton mayor sold, furnished and gave away alcohol to six people under the age of twenty-one. According to Fox News, Silva has been a school board president, a children’s swim coach, and leader for kids’ camps.

It wasn’t until after picking up her son that Martinez heard from the city: “We are notifying all camp parents that the Amador County District Attorney’s office has filed criminal charges against Anthony Silva in relation to incidents involving youth that occurred a year ago at the camp”.

Silva has a court appearance later this month on the felony charge of secretly recording confidential communications without consent and misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, providing alcohol to people under 21, and child endangerment.

In September 2015, agents from the Department of Homeland Security detained Silva at the San Francisco International Airport as he returned from China with a delegation of Northern California mayors.

The mayor added the laptop and cell phone were “illegally” seized.

The mayor, who is running for reelection in November, said the charges were politically motivated.

Witnesses also told officers that Silva provided alcohol to the camp counselors, five of whom were underage.

“In one of the video clips, it appeared that moments after the video began, the phone was set down, darkening the camera lens and thus only containing audio”, prosecutors said in a statement. He said that the clip involved a conversation with the mayor and the teens he coerced into playing strip poker in his cabin.

The district attorney said the 41-year-old mayor was in the room and participants indicated they were naked.

The City of Stockton relieved Silva of his campsite duties and ended the camp earlier than scheduled because of the incident.

Mayor Silva has stated that he has never before been charged with having committed a crime or convicted of any crime.

Los Angeles Times reported that Silva has denied the charges and was released Thursday afternoon after posting a $20,000 bail.
