Windows 10 to get two major updates next year
Microsoft continues to further expand Windows-as-a-service and has recently also made the much-awaited Anniversary Update available to all.
While not an official roadmap for Windows 10, this is the first indications that information I had been sharing in my podcast and in various post is correct, an update is slated for roughly the first half of 2017 with another release later in the year.

Moreover, Microsoft has also integrated Windows Hello right into Microsoft Edge which will allow the users to integrate the Window Hello to their authentic systems. The “additional feature updates” referenced are believed to be in development under the codenames Redstone 2 and Redstone 3. Conventional deployments of Windows Server 2016 will, just like Windows 10 LTSB, receive 10 years of support. He’s advising that users avoid Windows 10 version 1607 until some new problems get fixed.
Windows 10 has been a tremendous accomplishment for Microsoft in the company of more than 350 million dynamic users around the world. In addition, Microsoft’s research suggested that most users who roll back do it “within the first several days”. Windows 10 expanded on Metro style apps, live tiles were improved, Cortana and a new Microsoft browser was added. The mobile anniversary is said to drop early next week.
The best update control for organizations is available via the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10, which permit the “long-term servicing branch” update model to be used.
There are many interesting new features and tweaks included in the Anniversary Update, but I wouldn’t get into a hurry to download it just yet. The upgrade is for Windows 10 IoT Core, a light version of the operating system created to work on Raspberry Pi 3 as well as other developer boards. The November 2015 update, “Threshold 2”, was the second.
On Tuesday, The Seattle Times reported on two lawsuits that had been filed against Microsoft regarding the company’s actions with Windows 10.
Earlier this year, a source with knowledge of Microsoft’s plans claimed the firm had trimmed some of the features initially planned for Redstone 1 to focus on improvements to some of its internal systems.
Lastly, Window 10 introduced one major change in its Window Update part.
