PS4 Neo Reportedly To Be Revealed Next Month
It’s the prime time to get the conversation going about your video gaming brand, which is why it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to hear that Sony plans on making a big announcement come September. What do you guys think of the Playstation Neo?
Sony have not made any official announcement regarding the pricing, sale date or any technical specs of the Neo but have confirmed that its “in development”.
On Monday morning, French gaming site Gameblog reported that Sony is going to hold an event on September 7th in NY to reveal the upgraded PS4 console it announced in June.
Sony would be likely skipping an announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2016 since the event could be too crowdy and the buzz not enough to push the new console on the market.
Gameblog has in the past proved itself to be a mostly reliable source for gaming leaks, so one can only hope that this information proves to be accurate. Neo is the code name for the suped-up PlayStation 4, first rumored in March, that Sony confirmed just before E3. It was noted that while an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show seemed fitting, the announcement would actually be happening in NY at an event.
“Our sources are clear: Sony is planning an event on Wednesday, September 7 in NY”.
Pre-E3, Sony Interactive Entertainment president Andrew House explained Neo’s absence from that show by saying, “we want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety”.
Word on the street is that the console will be announced this September, but not at TGS. Tokyo Game Show begins later that week on September 15.
Even though Sony is unveiling a new console, it’s not the PlayStation 5.
