The creators of throwback sci-fi thriller masterpiece series Stranger Things have revealed that the series nearly didn’t happen after multiple network executives rejected the show.
Now streaming its first season on Netflix, the hit supernatural thriller “Stranger Things” chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances.
Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings told the Guardian that “we would be dumb not to” pick up Stranger Things for a second season. Of course, just like in the six chapters that proceeded this one, we see lots of references to the decade in which this show takes place, the eighties.

Thevenon’s nostalgia-invoking video positions scenes from Stranger Things side-by-side with the countless films the show was inspired by, from parallels between Elle and Firestarter, to the precious friendship of Will, Dustin, Mike and Lucas and The Goonies, to the creepy Upside Down monsters and Alien.
When asked if he thought it would continued by French movie site Premiere, he insisted: “Oh, there will be a season two, yeah”.
