Biden to Trump: ‘No one wants to earn a Purple Heart’

I saw Donald Trump accept a Purple Heart from a veteran. Programs of the MOPH include VA Volunteer Service, First Responder Recognition, JROTC Leadership Award, Scholarships, Americanism, Purple Heart Trail and Cities, Welfare, and numerous community service programs, all with the objective of service to Veterans and their families. “This was much easier”, Mr Trump said to the crowd. And this from someone who aspires to be the commander in chief of our armed forces.

Of course, there’s no way Trump would ever take Kerr up on this offer.

One by one, Purple Heart medal recipients relived their days in the military – their injuries, their lives since – as court reporters from the National Court Reporters Association and Foundation recorded every word on their steno machines.

“It was the actual callousness of him saying, ‘I’ve always wanted one”. Kerr didn’t anticipate just how deeply Trump’s words cut other veterans though.

So what exactly did Kerr do? Kerr admits to thinking hard about how he wanted to get his message across to the Republican nominee.

The governor welcomed Purple Heart recipients into the governor’s mansion. “After all, you’re never too old to follow your dreams”, Kerr wrote on the fundraising page. Donald Trump’s insensitive statements while receiving a Purple Heart during a rally in Virginia did not go down well with some veterans. Over $38k has already been raised, which is pretty yuge. So instead, we’re going to convert his toxic bigotry, ignorance, and callousness into something positive. “We attached that term to singers and to actors and to ball players, and some of them we might want to admire and emulate, and some of them we might not, but very few of them are legitimate heroes”, said Governor Edwards.

Mr Kerr said the funds would not be directed to “help Donald realise his conveniently retroactive military fantasies”, but instead would be donated to organisations aiding Syrian refugees.
