Clinton’s campaign is also releasing new endorsements from several retired Republican officials, including former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Carla Hills, former Maryland Congresswoman Connie Morella, former Connecticut Congressman Chris Shays and former Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte.
“It’s called the power of unification – Second Amendment people have wonderful spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power”, said Jason Miller, Trump’s senior communications adviser.
Trump’s team fired back to say the 70-year-old Manhattan billionaire simply meant that gun rights advocates were a powerful voting force.
The National Rifle Association, America’s largest pro-gun lobby, put forth that Trump was correct in saying it would be hard to protect the Second Amendment if Clinton appoints new justices. I’m curious, you still are in touch with the Trump campaign.

The Clinton campaign has challenged Trump when in the past he has accused her of planning to abolish the Second Amendment if elected president.
Tuesday’s speech came on the heels of a discordant week on the campaign trail for Trump, a businessman seeking his first public office.
Trump is struggling to transition from his strong grassroots primary performance to a more mature head-to-head battle with Clinton.
Democratic lawmakers expressed shock about Trump’s comments. “Despicable”, Democratic congressman David Cicilline posted on Twitter along with footage of Trump’s remarks.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday morning that the crowd at a Donald Trump rally would have “gone wild” had the Republican nominee for president actually encouraged gun rights activists to carry out violence against Hillary Clinton.
Clinton earned 50 percent in the poll, compared to Donald Trump’s 44 percent support. “You have the power to speak against her”.
Trump’s repeated stumbles and divisive rhetoric have angered Republican Party grandees.
Like so many times before, Trump’s supporters and opponents construed his comments in entirely different ways.
“Donald Trump is urging people around this country to act in a manner consistent with their convictions in the course of this election, and people who cherish the Second Amendment have a very clear choice in this election”, he told Philadelphia’s NBC affiliate.
