‘Supergirl’ And ‘The Flash’ Are Doing A Musical Crossover
The track-list will be made up of “mostly pre-existing songs”, according to uber-producer Greg Berlanti, who joked is “happy to take requests”.
Here’s everything we learned from the executive producers of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. It’s been a long-held fan desire that DC TV’s show put on a musical episode, especially when they started casting the musically talented likes of Grant Gustin, Melisa Benoist, Jeremy Jordan and, of course, Jesse L. Martin. In addition to a four-show crossover event this December, our favourite fun-having heroes are going to join forces for the ultimate multiversal adventure in 2017: a musical! “We have a number of people who can sing across all the shows who will be making some very exciting appearances in the back half of the year”. The crossover will occur between episodes 13 or 14 in the respective series. CW will also likely use this plot device as an excuse to merge Supergirl into the CWverse-proper – before, the only crossover with other DC properties was a dimension-jumping Flash episode.
“A significant character” on one of the CW superhero shows will be exploring his/her sexuality, Berlanti said.
While some thought that this was inevitable, we actually didn’t see it coming – and now it’s here.
Christopher Wood will play Mon-El, who was in the pod that crash-landed, on Supergirl.
Dolph Lundgren will also be introduced as a character in this season’s flashbacks, which is equal parts insane and awesome.
“We have Lance Henriksen appearing for the first time in Legends”, says Phil Klemmer, “as Obsidian, a member of the JSA”. And yes, there will be crossovers, since all of them exist in the same fictional universe.
Glenn Gellar revealed the motivation for CBS passing Supergirl to The CW in a panel at the TCA press tour (via TVLine), and it explains a lot about why CBS would give up its only comic property.
