President Obama Releases His 2016 Summer Jams Playlist

(Veloso memorably performed the song on Pedro Almodovar’s 2002 film Talk to Her.) President Obama’s inaugural Summer Playlist, released past year, included the title track to Lianne La Havas’s album Is Your Love Big Enough?

So at least now we know what the First Family is listening to during their vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.

The 39 selections spanned several genres, including hip-hop, r&b, rock and folk.

Obama had divided his top tracks into two categories, daytime and nighttime, and both are available to stream on Spotify.

Artists on the list immediately reacted to their inclusion on Twitter.

The playlist, which the White House released overnight, features Wigmore’s track “Man Like That” from her 2011 album Gravel and Wine.

Obama has Janelle Monae and Prince on his summer playlist. As one of the most gifted and prolific musicians of our time, Prince did it all.

Obama dropped a similar list a year ago on Spotify, which the White House said was “handpicked”. I wonder if the next president will continue this tradition…wait a minute, what would Donald Trump’s playlist sound like? Ha!
