Police Get About 450 Tips After Runner Found Dead in Woods
Vanessa Marcotte was visiting her mother in Princeton, Mass., when she went for a run Sunday.
Early said investigators have narrowed down a period of time when they believe Marcotte was attacked to between 1 and 3 p.m.
Vetrano’s father, Philip, called police two hours after she didn’t return from her daily run, which he usually accompanied her on and had skipped out last Tuesday because he was nursing a bad back.
There are eerie similarities between the murders of Vetrano and Marcotte.
Police say they’ve received hundreds of tips but don’t have any suspects or know if she was targeted or attacked at random.
The killings roused fear among female runners.
“We did have a motorcycle accident that occurred around 2:45 p.m.at the intersection of Marhill road, with a male operator and a female passenger”, Albert said Friday.
“We don’t feel comfortable running alone”.
Massachusetts State Police K-9 teams discovered Marcotte’s body in a wooded area about 8:10pm, the Boston Globe reported. Her body was found in the woods about a half-mile from her mother’s home later that night. Princeton police wrote on their Facebook page that “no tip is inconsequential or irrelevant”. Marcotte’s body was found in the woods, traumatized and burned. Vanessa Marcotte was an only child, which makes the loss even more painful.
As John told the Daily Mail, “How can anything ever be all right again when your only child has been horribly murdered?”
“I ask people to pray that whoever did this is caught”.
“She was very good at it”. She graduated top of her class. “Somehow she immediately knew that’s what she wanted to do”, Quigley said. “Every dollar from you will help to bring her family and our community one step closer to the only thing that can help now and that is an arrest and conviction”.
The woman assured police that she and her husband did not “see or hear anything unusual”.
