Here’s How Much Hillary Clinton Paid in Taxes Last Year
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has released her 2015 tax returns. Adding an effective state and local income tax rate of 9.0%, the couple’s total tax rate was 43.2%.
Clinton, who has released every year of tax returns since 1977, mher 2015 tax filing Friday.
Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, released 10 years of their own tax returns.
Mr. Trump has said he’s being audited by the IRS, and said it doesn’t make sense to release his returns in the middle of that audit.
Presidential candidates are not legally required to release their tax returns, although the practice has been the norm for more than four decades.
Yesterday at her economic speech in Warren, Michigan, Clinton continued to press Trump on his tax holdout. Clinton led Trump by 12 percentage points in Colorado (where Johnson and Stein polled at 15 percent and 6 percent, respectively); by five percentage points in Florida (with Johnson at 9 percent and Stein at 4 percent); by nine percentage points in North Carolina (where Johnson had 9 percent and Stein had 2 percent); and by 12 percentage points in Virginia (with Johnson at 12 percent and Stein at 5 percent). Clinton also holds a staggering advantage over the businessman in Colorado, where she is leading by 14 points, 46 to 32 percent, compared to an 8-point lead in July.

The bulk of their income came from speeches delivered to corporate and interest groups, which paid Bill Clinton and later Hillary Clinton after she resigned as secretary of state in early 2013. In 2015 the couple made 3,441 and paid a combined effective tax rate of 25.6%. Several former students have sued a school operated by the company, alleging fraud.
Bill Clinton’s office past year said he had ended his consulting relationship with Laureate, but no similar statement has been made regarding to GEMS, which stands for Global Education Management Systems.
