Felicity Jones a Standout in New Star Wars Rogue One Trailer
Guess who’s back? Back again?
He’s back. Yes, if we’re thinking on the right track, that split-second image of the black helmet is, in fact, Darth Vader.
Lucasfilm and Disney have released the second official trailer for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, and a report from The Verge has dissected the footage to discover as many hidden clues and indications of what the film will actually be about.
The new trailer shows Jyn Erson with Cassian, together with the Rebel Alliance, prepared for a unique mission, set to steal the plans for the Death Star, for this will have to face the bad Darth Vader.
Fans of Darth Vader will be thrilled to discover the character makes a brief appearance at the end of the two-minute teaser, though it is not yet known how much screen time the legendary villain has.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.
Last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens made more than $2bn worldwide, and analysts have backed Rogue One to dominate this year’s box office. Jones (playing Jyn Erso) is tasked with stealing the Death Star schematics with her gang of rebels.
The famous silhouette of Darth Vader appears in the new commercial for Disney’s upcoming film, which arrives in theaters December 16.
This will mark the first time Vader is seen in a film since 2005 with the release of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”.
