Jessica Jones Showrunner Hints At Multiple Season 2 Villains
Rosenberg hasn’t said much else about her plans for villains in Season 2 of Jessica Jones, which leaves us wondering how these villains might be introduced.
The exec clarified that it’s not antagonist but antagonists. In addition to Vincent D’Onofrio’s spectacular turn as Wilson Fisk on Daredevil, David Tennant’s Kilgrave made for a terrifying adversary on Jessica Jones.
“Jessica Jones” may not have its second season until 2018 comes along, but it doesn’t mean that fans aren’t eager to know what will come of Marvel’s heavy-drinking meta human Jessica Jones, when the series’ next batch of episodes arrive. She went on to explain that, “The biggest mistake would be to try to repeat that. You just go, ‘OK, we’re not doing that, so we have this open to us'”.
Rosenberg says the second season will bring the focus to the supporting characters around Jessica as well; and speaking of supporting characters could we see Trish Walker finally become Hellcat in the new episodes? Also known as Thursday Rubinstein, the villain also fought against Hellcat during the Civil War.
Since the first season was based heavily on the comics, it could prove to be very challenging to create more content for the television series. This does not mean though that he can not sway his target towards Hell’s Kitchen’s crime fighters which includes Jessica. In the comics, he attempts to kill Jessica and her daughter, but Spider-Man stops him. As people on the internet are inclined to do, many read an nearly romantic subtext to their relationship, and Rosenberg seems to be on board, but emphasized that this was probably not where the show was headed (write your own fanfic, nerds). A character named Will Simpson (Wil Traval) was introduced in season 1. Unfortunately, he ends up addicted to the pills they give him, and he ends up working for anyone that hires him.
The Netflix superheroine also looks like she’s going to face new threats in the show’s second season, but from a mould different from the first season’s Kilgrave.
In other news, it is still unclear when “Jessica Jones” will be released.
