See the Eerie First Trailer for the JonBenét Ramsey Docuseries
The limited series takes a deep dive into the 1996 murder of six-year-old pageant queen JonBenet Ramsey. The case has suffered from false confessions and a possibly tainted crime scene, and has been closed and reopened as recently as 2010.
Throughout the six-hour season, they will be joined by a series of retired prosecutors, FBI agents, investigators, forensic specialists and legal professionals all trying to definitively decide who murdered Ramsey.
She had been reported missing eight hours earlier when a ransom note had been found.
The innocent 6-year-old was killed almost 20 years ago, and the case still remains unsolved. “The sheer scope of their investigation is unprecedented, from building a full-scale model of the Ramsey home to chasing new leads across the country”, CBS president Glenn Geller said August 11.
Maybe, if a new CBS show has its say. In those shots we see investigators walking through what looks like a child’s room, complete with the mess of toys you would expect, especially on Christmas night.
Is the world finally going to get some closure on the JonBenét Ramsey case? On the surface, the program seems to share a lot of DNA with Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story, another anthology series that pores over bygone wrongdoings-starting with O.J. In addition to CBS’s docuseries, which will air in three installments in September, Investigation Discovery will also air their own three-part series. Lifetime will premiere its original movie, Who Killed JonBenet?
