Margot Robbie Wants Harley Quinn Movie: “I’m Trying To Make That Happen”
We spoke to Leto while he was doing the promotion rounds for Suicide Squad, and asked what his version of the super-villain would make of Superman. One of the more prominent (and divisive) features of this Joker in Suicide Squad is that he’s got a major tattoo fetish.
Two brothers from Scotland, disappointed by the film of David Ayer, chose to file a complaint against its distributor.
Ayer has been standing strongly by the theatrical cut and while it’s clear that he’s proud of the film, many of us know that Warner Bros.is no stranger to making last minute changes-they told Zack Snyder to edit down Batman v Superman because they were anxious about the length. “There’s just so much more to do”. Changes are often made while marketing campaigns are underway, and given the news of reshoots, deleted scenes and dueling cuts, clearly that was very much the case on Suicide Squad. Even the movie’s actor Jared Leto who plays the Joker reckons a lot of his parts got cut as well.
At least we know that Leto’s character had an interesting backstory. But Margot Robbie, whose performance as Harley Quinn was one of the few redeeming qualities of Suicide Squad, has a more logical theory.
“Joker killed Robin and Batman basically smashes his teeth out and locks him up in Arkham Asylum”, Ayer said.
DC Comics and Warner Bros Suicide Squad may have had a critical mauling from fans and critics alike but actress Margot Robbie still has faith in the series. The “damaged” tattoo is just way too on the nose. The message reads, “You’ve damaged me”.
The return of the Joker to the big screens in the upcoming DC Extended Universe films depends upon the public’s response to Jared Leto’s Joker. Period. This is becoming a habbit with movie studios, showing epic scenes in trailers…but their never shown in the movies.
