Game of Thrones taking over Comic Con in San Diego
Earlier this month, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said that they are gearing up to shoot spectacular scenes and to make it more authentic, it will take longer to reach our TV screens.
They also offered a few insights into possible character motivations left unexplained by the show.
“Game Of Thrones” Season 7 could see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and King Of The North (Kit Harington) seem set for a love triangle. “But I don’t think Sansa thinks Jon is fit to rule the North”.
Kristian Nairn who played sweet Hodor also said he was blown away by how fans reacted to his character’s death, saying: “I did not expect it to be so insane”.
We are in on e of the most painful offseason of the year – the show hole created by Game of Thrones boarders on show crater.
Liam Cunningham (Sir Davos) – “The only hint that we have of this is George RR Martin said it would be bittersweet”.
“Game of Thrones” star, Maisie Williams said she found out about her very first Emmy Nomination in the best way. “I knew I was going to be killed, but I didn’t expect the outpouring of emotions”.
Turner got quite a few boos when she suggested that it should be Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) on the Throne at the end. “It would be fun and quirky, sadistic, and we like that kind of thing”, she reminded fans.
Iwan Rheon, who plays Ramsay, does think his widely hated character had some redeeming characteristics: “Poor guy’s had a tough upbringing”.
Faye Marsay (The Waif) – “Arya because if I don’t say that, Masey’ll beat me with a stick”.
Kristian Nairn, the actor who plays everyone’s favorite lovable protector had an excellent answer that surprisingly wasn’t “Hodor”. It’s blown my mind.
Producers of the show have in fact previously stated their intentions to wrap up the series in season eight, and had teased the possibility of two truncated seasons that would wrap the show up at the 73-hour mark. “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, “Winter is here”, and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more”, Benioff and Weiss explained.
HBO released an in-production teaser at the annual fan convention in San Diego, showing footage of the props and set design of season seven.
Unfortunately, while we were debating on a possible ending for the show, HBO announced that not only would they reduce the number of episodes for the next season, it would actually air in summer of 2017 instead of April. This includes the preparation of derivative works of, or the incorporation of such content into other works.
Even more intriguingly, in another blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment a props designer can be seen painting an bad lot of eye stones, which are traditionally used to cover the eyes of Westerosi nobles shortly after their death.
