Such inequality has afflicted many USA cities as a result of the loss of manufacturing jobs over the past three decades, sometimes stoking unrest when police use deadly force.
An officer was also injured during Sunday night’s riots.

Police say Smith was stopped on Saturday afternoon for behaving suspiciously and that he then fled on foot between two homes. Police did not say who shot him, but that they are looking for suspects.
The fatal shooting Saturday of a black man by a black policeman is under investigation by the state.
“We think we are, comparatively speaking, in a positive place”, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said during the press conference.
The arrests follow skirmishes between protesters and police but without the widespread destruction of property that marked the first night after the man’s death.
The man, whose name has not been released, was shot late Sunday during a demonstration to protest the killing of a black man by a police officer a day earlier.
Milwaukee police have not released the police officer’s name, and have said he is on administrative leave.

A total of 41 people have been arrested since Saturday night in the neighborhood. “Subjectively there’s been less tonight than there was last night”.
Barrett added Monday night’s peaceful gatherings were “very encouraging” but remained cautious that “things could happen” later in the evening while Flynn credited community leaders and pastors for leading the charge for peace.
Officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown, 24, a two-year veteran of the department, shot Smith, according to the NY Daily News.
