Belgian Police Shoot Woman after Knife Attack on Bus
Police have shot and wounded the woman – who reportedly attacked two people on a bus before wounding another nearby in the Belgian capital.
Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) reported that the attacker had been hit in the arm by police, and been arrested.
The attack happened around 4.30pm local time in Uccle, just south of the centre of Brussels.
He said that he was going to report to the police with her son voluntarily, as soon as I return to Belgium.
The street has been sealed off, with multiple police patrols present at the scene.
“The police ordered her to drop the knife, she did not”.
The statement said that “the victims and the suspect have been taken to hospital for treatment”.
As well, authorities seem to have access to confidential medical records faster than they can get her name.
Public broadcaster RTBF said that sources had told it the attacker was thought to have mental health problems and was not motivated by terrorism.
A string of less violent incidents across the continent have kept Europeans on edge since 85 people were killed after a truck was driven into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in Nice last month.
