Zimmer Has ‘No Concern’ About Bridgewater

All while last year’s third-string quarterback, Taylor Heinicke, remains in a walking boot with a repaired tendon in his foot. He played college ball at Villanova and was not selected in the 2015 draft.

“Today I was with the first team”, Fusco said. Those manufactured touches for Patterson could be a sign they’re willing to meet him halfway, or simply a confidence booster for continued tests moving forward. Clemmings switched from right tackle to left tackle this offseason after the team signed eighth-year right tackle Andre Smith to compete with since-retired right tackle Phil Loadholt. Wide receiver Jarius Wright, who missed the first two preseason games because of a lower leg injury, returned to practice and worked with the second unit.

Asked why Bridgewater didn’t play, Zimmer said: “Because I sat him”. He did not take part in the deep passing drill. That includes four sacks of Seahawks starter Russell Wilson last week. He was joined briefly by defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee), who suited up before shedding the shoulder pads to work with athletic trainer Eric Sugarman. Teams are not required to compile an injury report until the regular season; therefore, if Kalil’s injury is minor, we may not know what really happened if he returns by the end of the month.
