Chhattisgarh Assembly ratifies GST Bill
The motion for ratification of the Bill was moved by chief minister Virbhadra Singh in the state assembly.
The Odisha Cabinet while giving its approval to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill today made a decision to convene a special session of the State Assembly on September 1 to debate on it, informed Chief Secretary A P Padhi at a press briefing here after the Cabinet meeting.
Vijayawada: The Monsoon session of Andhra Pradesh Legislature will be held in Hyderabad in the first week of September during which the Constitution amendment Bill paving the way for introduction of GST will be ratified.
They were demanding bringing of a privilege motion against the remarks that appeared in a section of the media.
Bihar found support from the ruling coalition of JD-U, RJD and Congress as well as the BJP-led opposition while it passed the Bill. “Our only concern is that the interests of Chhattisgarh should not be compromised by the framework of the bill”, Leader of Opposition in the assembly, TS Singhdeo, said.
Goods and Service Tax (GST) was ratified unopposed on the last day of monsoon session in Gujarat.
The GST Bill, seen as single biggest tax reform in a long time, needs to be ratified by at least 15 state legislatures before the President can notify the GST Council which will decide the new tax rate and other issues.
The BJP has blamed the Chief Minister for callings its MLAs as municipal committee workers who are not fit to become legislators.
