Huma Abedin worked at a radical Muslim journal for a dozen years
The email release comes a day after the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it uncovered an additional 15,000 emails from Clinton during her time as secretary of state through further searches of her private email server and by searching the archives of government officials with whom she interacted. Why she would choose Abedin to help lead the presidential campaign remains to be seen.
Though the policy reveals that only classified information should be placed in burn bags, a State Department official told The Daily Caller that in some circumstances “sensitive” information may also be placed in burn bags.
Abedin has been in Clinton’s orbit since 1996, when she got a White House internship as a student at George Washington University. The journal was founded in 1978 by Huma’s late father, Syed Abedin.
Merrill declined to say whether Abedin was paid by the journal. Abedin told Band she was “nervous” asking Clinton to personally intervene. In an interview with Vogue, Abedin claims her mother traveled the world to speak about empowering women and claimed her views were “normal”.
But her time at the State Department has not only drawn controversy because of the emails later made public.
“She did not play a role in editing at the publication”, Merrill said. She also worked with the Clinton Foundation.
After the revelation, State Department spokesman Mark Toner was questioned by Fox New’s James Rosen about whether Ms Abedin had been “fully vetted” before working for the government. Abedin has answered Grassley’s inquiries with a defense of her varied work as separate. The publication noted that in an email titled “Favor”, Abedin asked Hillary Clinton’s personal assistant, Lauren Jiloty, to move some “burn stuff” from a pocket in the front seat of her vehicle to the trunk.
At the time, the power couple was notable for Weiner’s rising career and their Muslim-Jewish relationship.
That time, Abedin stood by his side and gave remarks at a press conference.
He said: “She has a very troubling past. It was not an easy choice in any way, but I made the decision that it was worth staying in this marriage”.
Hillary Clinton’s most trusted State Department aide Huma Abedin once left classified papers in the packet behind the front seat of a staff auto she was assigned in India, according to an email released Monday. The comments come even though she was listed as an editor on the hate-filled periodical’s masthead for a dozen years. This suggests that Hillary Clinton knew about the JMMA and might even know why it’s called “the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs”.
