Bryan Stork traded to Redskins for conditional draft pick
Earlier Wednesday, there was a report that the New England Patriots would cut center Bryan Stork.
Center Bryan Stork may still retire, but if he does he’ll do so as a member of a new team. Though just 25 years old, Stork has a history of concussions, which could factor into his decision-making process here.
The Patriots are also releasing veteran wide receiver Nate Washington, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
The 25-year-old was a fourth-round pick for the Pats out of Florida State in the 2014 National Football League draft, and he started 11 games at center for New England as a rookie en route to winning the Super Bowl.
Stork started 17 games in two seasons for the Patriots at center and right tackle. “It’s that time of year”. The trade opens the door for second-year player David Andrews, who replaced Stork for 10 games last season. That being said, the 2015 Patriots offensive line was one of the worst units assembled in the Belichick era in Foxboro. “That’s the business, I guess”. Then, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport a few hours later broke the news that Stork had, in fact, been traded to the Washington Redskins before his release was made official. “Getting better every day. Current starter Kory Lichtensteiger is listed at 6’2”, 295 lbs.
