Villa agree deal for Cordoba defender Crespo
Cordoba have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Aston Villa for defender Jose Angel Crespo.
A product of the Sevilla youth system, Spaniard Crespo has played for Racing Santander, Padova, Bologna and Verona during his career.
Cordoba have announced an agreement with English Premier League side Aston Villa over the transfer of 28-year-old full-back José Ángel Crespo.
The defender will travel to England for a medical on Monday before he completes the signing with the Villans.
The former Spain U21 worldwide can play on the left or the right but was unable to prevent Cordoba’s relegation from La Liga last season and now appears poised to join fellow Spaniard Carles Gil at Villa Park.
Crespo is now set to become Villa’s sixth signing of the summer, along with Scott Sinclair, Micah Richards, Mark Bunn, Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Amavi.
“He is in the country and we are looking forward to getting Jordan on board”.
He was loaned out to Sunderland last season – where he scored seven Premier League goals – and has also been linked with a switch to Leicester City.
