Gareth Edwards Breaks Down “Rogue One’s” Multiple Meanings
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story kicks off the Star Wars anthology series on December 16 and will be followed by a Han Solo anthology film on May 25, 2018 and an untitled Star Wars anthology film on a date yet to be announced.
Gareth Edwards has finally explained the reasons behind the title to the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The sad news was broken by St Michaels Hospice on Facebook. The hashtag #RogueOneWish quickly started trending, even getting support from Mark Hamill, who retweeted an article about the campaign to his 1.23 million followers. However, just as similar news erupted about Suicide Squad earlier this year, revelations such as that tend to be perceived as chummed waters, implying that the film is in a state of disarray over at Disney.
Last year, Disney screened Star Wars: The Force Awakens for a terminally ill person who later died, according to Cinemablend. Hanvey’s wife Andrea released a statement Tuesday following her husband’s death that thanks everyone for their outpouring of support. “We would also like to thank everyone at St Michaels Hospice, especially Amy Duncan, without who #RogueOneWish would not have happened”.
“On behalf of all our family we would like to thank everyone who has passed on their condolences following Neil’s death last night”, she said.
Sadly Hanvey passed away not long after seeing the film, but his family and friends wanted to thank everybody who had helped spread the message about his wish. All donations at Neil’s funeral will go to the Hospice’s Family Support team and will be used to fund work with children and young people.
A Star Wars Story images and details are expected to emerge over the next couple days as Empire Magazine’s Massive Winter Preview Issue hits newsstands with Rogue One cast members covering the front page.
