NCAA asking other SEC players about their recruitment by Ole Miss
MS is accused on 28 NCAA violations in three sports.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that the NCAA has interviewed players at other SEC schools about their experiences with Ole Miss during their recruiting.
NCAA Enforcement representatives have visited Auburn and Mississippi State, and perhaps at least one more SEC Western Division school, this summer to speak with players who were recruited by Ole Miss.
Those recruited players were granted immunity from potential NCAA punishment if they were truthful in their interviews.
In April, an investigation was launched into Ole Miss alum Jeremy Tunsil after a video and texts were released the night of the National Football League draft.
The NCAA’s been investigating Ole Miss for years, going back to the coaching staff previous to Hugh Freeze.
Ole Miss officials hoped they were nearing the end of an investigation that will have its fourth birthday in September.
However, it did cause the NCAA to take their investigation into Tunsil, who was drafted 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins, further into the Ole Miss program. Screenshots of alleged text messages between Tunsil and assistant athletic director of football operations John Miller showed him requesting money twice were released on his Instagram account.
The NCAA suspended Tunsil seven games last season for receiving impermissible benefits during his recruitment.
