Fans Hail Hart as City Progress
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has played down speculation linking him with a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, stating “there is no interest” in the England worldwide.
City host West Ham United in their next league game on Sunday.
Everton have been reported to be interested in Hart, with the 29-year-old having been advised by new England manager Sam Allardyce this week that he should seek out first team football if he wishes to remain the England No 1.
Joe Hart was full of smiles during what could be his last appearance for Manchester City.
Hart has seen himself become surplus to requirements at City under the management of Pep Guardiola, with Claudio Bravo due to arrive imminently from Barcelona as new number one.
“It’s a place I love to be”, he added.
“I don’t talk about which positions or players or you start the season talking about transfers”.
“Now I will challenge the other great goalkeepers the club has and together I hope we can win many trophies”.
He was given a rousing reception by City fans and appeared emotional during and at the end of what could have been his last game for the club.
He moved to Barcelona in 2014 from Real Soceidad and has won eight different title in just two years with the Catalans, playing 75 games and being named in the 2014/15 La Liga Team of the Season. This summer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and his agent demanded one thing: to be the main goalkeeper at Barcelona.
Goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, defenders Pablo Mari and John Stones, midfielders Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Aleksandar Zinchenko, Aaron Mooy and Marlos Moreno along with forwards Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus have all joined the club.
“Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad”, Guardiola told City’s website. “I really appreciate the people at Manchester City and it turns out they appreciate me”.
