Baby stroller recall issued for Safety 1st Step and Go product
The company says there have been 30 reports of the “Step and Go” travel system’s folding mechanism de-attaching when used with an infant auto seat. The stroller has a step-to-open design that opens by stepping on the pedal.
Health Canada has declared the strollers unsafe as the tray-fold mechanism has been known to cause falls from its occupants.
Consumers should stop using it and contact the company for a fix kit. The company says this only happens while a auto seat is attached to the stroller.
The Step N Go Travel Systems strollers were made in China and distributed by Dorel Juvenile Canada between May 2015 and June 2016.
“Dorel Juvenile is committed to manufacturing products with the highest standards for our users”.
The fall hazard with the Safety 1st Step and Go Travel Systems occurs when the tray folding mechanism partially disengages on one side when used with an infant vehicle seat attached to the stroller. In both countries, no injuries were reported.
