Everton fan dies after collapsing during Premier League match against Stoke
“There was no pushing or pulling, it wasn’t as if he was dragged down”.
“I don’t think there was a great deal between the sides”.
Ryan Shawcross allowed Romelu Lukaku to dart in behind him on to Williams’ long ball, but the Stoke captain atoned for his lapse by clearing the resulting shot off the line.
“We may have to take certain individuals away from man marking”.
“Hopefully, they (referees) can revert to a bit of sanity because it’s very frustrating”.
Hughes’ side were second best for much of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park, with Everton taking a deserved lead – if fortuitous in the manner of its arrival – when Ashley Williams went down under pressure from Phil Bardsley, with Michael Oliver pointing to the spot.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman says there is still more work to be done as he takes his side into the worldwide break unbeaten.
“Maybe it is good to take a picture of that (league table) and keep it until the end of the season”, he said.
“If he plays like the first couple of games, there is no need to change”, Koeman said.
“The defensive organisation in the team is good, three matches, two goals, and that is the way to build but a lot of things offensively we can do better”. “We are at the point where we have to consider zonal marking”.
“To get that balance in your team, you need more than one pre-season and more than one transfer window”.
Everton had been linked with a move for out-of-favour Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, but Koeman has reiterated that he is not interested in bringing the England number one to Merseyside, despite admitting that he is looking to add another player in that position.
