Two Western Michigan players facing charges kicked off team
They since have been suspended from the team by Coach P.J. Fleck.
Two Western Michigan football players remain in police custody on a preliminary charge of home invasion.
Two Western Michigan Football Players Arrested, Allegedly Held Up Student In Dorm Bryson White, a wide receiver, and Ron George, a linebacker, allegedly entered a dorm room in Draper Hall on the WMU campus, holding up a female student with a gun and a knife and robbing her.
Per WWMT 3 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, White and George were arrested in a vehicle on the Western Michigan campus with weapons and stolen money.
Wide receiver Bryson White and linebacker Ron George were dismissed Sunday, Aug. 28, following a notice of suspension a day prior, according to a news release.George and White were arrested shortly after police say they pushed their way into an off-campus apartment Friday night near California and MI avenues and robbed a woman. The two were later detained early Saturday on campus with weapons and stolen money. Officials made no comment about why the players were arrested.
“All student-athletes will be held accountable to all University student code, Athletic-student athlete and Football code of conduct standards”.
Fleck said the players could be kicked off the team and dismissed from the University if the allegations prove true. “Violations of these standards can lead to dismissal from the team and university”.
