Thousands expected at notting hill carnival grand finale

Scotland Yard said it had arrested 71 people over the same time for a variety of alleged offences.
Minutes later, police were called to another stabbing on Portobello Road, taking one person to hospital.
Three other victims, at least two of whom are male, were also taken to hospital.
These included two alleged sexual offences, 50 drugs offences, 20 counts of possession of offensive weapons, four counts of actual bodily harm, two of grievous bodily harm, one alleged theft and one public disorder.
London Ambulance said staff on duty had treated 345 patients by 8.45pm, including the four stab victims, with 43 patients taken to hospital.
The carnival continues on Monday, as west Londoners, and hundreds of thousands fro further afield get a second chance to enjoy their bank holiday weekend with a packed list of attractions on offer again.
Two men were rushed to hospital and an update on their condition is also awaited.
Today is dedicated to children and families, and kids in fancy dress and face paint claimed the best view of the parade by sitting on their parents’ shoulders.
“We just arrived to London after visiting the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh”. These officers will seek out anyone who has bail conditions which prohibit them from attending the event, as well as quickly identifying offenders committing crime.
Sunday will start at 10.30am with the colourful parade for Children’s Day, and Monday will be the traditional Grand Finale.
The Carnival, celebrating Caribbean culture in London, was first held in the 1960s and now attracts visitors from all over the world.
