Teen Sought by Police Asks News to Use Better Mugshot on Facebook
However, the 18-year-old was mortified to find that the police and media had been circulating her mugshot around in their appeals for help from the public. While on the run, Sharp offered a more appealing photo of herself in the comments section.
But the accompanying police mugshot which was issued obviously upset the teen, who responded to the 7 News Sydney post about her escape with her own image.
She posted another photo of hers as a comment and advised the channel to use that instead of the mug shot.
Amy Sharp even provided a preferred photo to 7 News Sydney, and the comment earned her thousands of likes.
Amy Sharp may look risky, but that’s not how she wants to be seen.
Despite Sharp’s polite request, 7 News Sydney used her original mugshots in reports alerting their followers to her arrest. “Just put out an ugly photo and the crim will be in touch to give you a better one lol (sic)”.
The young scamp escaped from the Surry Hills Corrective Services Cell Complex, where she was being held for “property offenses” the afternoon of August 19.
Unhappy with the photo distributed by police, Amy chose to take matters into her own hands and supply the media with a more flattering photo of herself.
