Jose Mourinho: Ibrahimovic will be given four days rest
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been given four days off by Jose Mourinho after playing every minute of Manchester United’s campaign so far.
United striker Ibrahimovic has enjoyed an impressive start to his career at the club by scoring in the Community Shield match then adding another three goals in three Premier League games, played on successive weekends.
Manchester United have a had a hugely successful transfer window this summer.
“At age 34 years, a player needs to rest”, said Mourinho Mirror.
“The other guys who aren’t selected for their national teams, I give them two days off, but for Zlatan, I give holidays a la carte”, Mourinho told The Independent after the win against Hull City.
But, according to Yahoo Sport, the Argentine defender is not for sale, and has a role to play in United’s season. It depends on the situation.
“Four matches, he played 360 minutes”.
The first of those matches was the 2-1 win in the Community Shield against Leicester City on August 7 when Ibrahimovic scored a match-winning header.
Ibrahimovic retired from global football for Sweden following Euro 2016 after 116 caps for his country and 62 goals.
Mourinho says each of his squad members who have not been selected for worldwide duty will be given two days off during the fortnight, while Zlatan will be given four.
