The man was working on the set of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel.
The 28-year-old Hungarian, whose name has not been released, was crushed under a platform while dismantling a set in Budapest, according to local studio, Origo. However, Origo spokesperson declined to comment on possible causes of the accident, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
The movie was not shooting at Origo Studios at the time.
Few details have been released about the sequel’s plot other than it takes place several decades after the first film.
A scene from the original “Blade Runner”, where replicant hunter Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) jumps over traffic as he chases one of four outlaw androids.
The movie, which stars Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto, is being filmed on location.
The septuagenarian actor was injured himself on set while filming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in 2014.
Ford suffered a broken leg during the incident and was airlifted to a hospital in Oxford. “And then it flung my left leg up and it dislocated my ankle and as it drove me down to the floor, my legs slapped on the ramp up to the Millennium Falcon and broke both bones in my left leg”.
“Blade Runner 2” is produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Denis Villeneuve.
For a film with a very set aesthetic like Blade Runner, the sequel has big shoes to step into, and recapturing the look and feel of the cyberpunk classic is paramount for the success of Blade Runner 2.
