Angry Niners Fan Burns Colin Kaepernick Jersey While Playing the National Anthem
Kaepernick, who has sat through the anthem for all three 49ers preseason games so far, is prepared to keep fighting for what he believes in – even alone.
Glazer said he would be “shocked” if Kaepernick lasted the entire season on the 49ers roster, although he specifically says it’s not from a political perspective.
Kaepernick justified his controversial act as a protest against police brutality and the mistreatment of blacks in America.
“I mean, (Kaepernick) may stand during the national anthem, and that would be news as well because it would be going against what he said what he was going to do”.
“To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way”, Kaepernick told reporters. “Cops are getting paid leave for killing people. I don’t know what [in] his experience could be so negative”, Kilmeade said. “I’m very happy that it is”, he continued.
“And this is for people that are being oppressed and need to have equal opportunities to be successful, to provide for families and not live in poor circumstances”, he said.
“We recognise his right [to sit]”, Chip Kelly said.
The National Football League released a statement saying players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the national anthem.
Halloran pointed out recent attacks on police in his letter.
What comes next will naturally determine the true scope of the implications, both in terms of national debate, as well as for Kaepernick personally, of his actions.
Fisher then continued on by stating that while everyone has a right to speak their mind, that he’d be surprised if any of his players chose to do with Kaepernick did.
“I guess that’s his right, but you would hope as a sign of respect, [he] would support the flag”, Sudfeld said.
Kaepernick is not a fan of Hillary Clinton either; “she’s called black teens or black kids super predators”.
Simpson understands why Kaepernick spoke out about what’s going on in our country but didn’t like the way he went about it. How can we vote for these people?
“They fight for freedom”.
But regardless, Kaepernick has his reasons for opting out of the National Anthem.
Cruz believes that it is more so about comradery instead of pledging allegiance to the United States, however standing at all for Kaepernick seems hard to do.
