According to Rodney Harrison, Colin Kaepernick Isn’t Even Black
“And Colin Kaepernick – he’s not black, OK?”
Now you don’t have to believe that Harrison had no clue Kaepernick was black, although I’m not sure how great of a cop out that is for anyone to make up.
It seems that more people are giving their opinion on San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s controversial decision to sit during the national anthem before the 3rd preseason game for the 49ers. “And Colin Kaepernick – he’s not black”, Harrison said.
“I’ll tell you this”, Harrison said.
In a odd episode on Tuesday, the former New England Patriots star Rodney Harrison said Kaepernick didn’t understand the issues because he is “not black”. But I think there’s also things in this nation that people need to remember. this country is the same country that had “whites” and “colored” signs on the bathroom.
“I’m not saying that he has to be black”. Harrison isn’t the only athlete to speak out against Kaepernick’s action.
Hs suggested that Kaepernick should actually get more involved in causes instead of just sitting in protest. He was born to a White mother, a Black father, and was raised by a White adoptive couple who taught him to be comfortable in his Blackness.
Harrison said Kaepernick should consider alternative ways of seeking change. They treat them a certain way. there are certain statistics that are put out there to make sure that police profile certain people in certain neighborhoods and that needs to change. Rodney Harrison certainly doesn’t look like Michael Blackson, so is Michael Blackson more Black or less Black than Rodney?
“He’s in a quarterback battle, he’s fighting for his life”, Harrison said.
A few hours later, Harrison issued an apology via Twitter in which he clarified that he “never knew [Kaepernick] was mixed”. But what happened to that. years ago when he was making little money? They have to answer questions. “And frankly this team is not good enough to try to get better and handle distractions”. “He’s within his rights and he’s telling the truth as he sees it and I am with him 100 percent”. It didn’t matter how close I stood to my family, somebody would walk up to me, a real nervous manager, and say: ‘Excuse me.
“This is not something that I am going to run by anybody”, he said.
